Activities:

  • Human Library – event which brings the public face to face to its own prejudices: men cannot raise children, women are the weaker sex. The people whose stories contradict a stereotypical generalisation are the Human Books. These books may be "borrowed" by participants for a 20 minutes talk. The readers will be young people from the Sibiu high schools and universities. The message sent by the Human Library is: "Discover diversity beyond generalisation".

  • Equals on Bicycles - open air event organised in partnership with the Tura in Natura Association.

  • Gender Treasure Hunt – prize contest for high school students on the topic of gender equality.

  • Choose your words - street activity where participants may dedicate messages "written" with the help of our letter-volunteers.

  • Study on gender equality among the young generation – the survey will cover at least 500 people. The results of the study will be used in the Gender Equality Promotion Guide which will be published in 2012 and will disseminate the experience of A.L.E.G. and of other organisations in the promotion of gender equality among young people.

Target group:

500 young people between 14 and 24 years old from Sibiu, Cisnădie and the neighbouring towns.
