Key moments in the history of our association
In 2005 A.L.E.G. became a member of the National Coalition of NGOs Involved in Preventing and Fighting Violence Against Women, following a collaboration which started in 2004 during the campaign "16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence"
In July 2005, A.L.E.G. benefited from international recognition through the award granted to the case study carried out by Camelia Blaga during the AWID International Competition (Association of Women in Development) with the topic “Building Feminist Values and Movements”. The study was presented at the thenth AWID World Conference in Thailand and it shall be included in a specialised publication.
In October-November 2005, the director of our organisatin participated at an academic training program on women's rights organised by the Raol Wallenberg Institute in collaboration with the School of Law from Lund, Sweden, through a scholarship of the Swedish International Development Agency; the program will continue in 2006 at Kiev. On this occasion, A.L.E.G. established important contacts with a regional network of organisations and defenders of human rights from Eastern Europe.
In 2006 our social service "Centre of information and counselling on gender equality" was accredited by the relevant competent authority - The Directorate for Dialogue, Family and Social Solidarity.
